How To Throw A Series Finale Party

You have been an avid fan of a certain television show for a long time and now they are ending it forever. Instead of sitting around wondering what you will do during the missing time slot, you should get up and throw a series finale party!
-
You will need
-
Step 1:
-
Plot Your Theme
-
Your party theme will reflect the show. Think about your favorite episodes and what you loved about the show and run with it. A great example, if you are throwing a "Grey's Anatomy" Party is turning your apartment into a hospital and the viewing room into the operating room. Be over the top, the bigger the better!
-
Think about the space you have. If you have a 19 inch television and 15 people you might want to think about having the party at a local bar or restaurant that has adequate space for the amount of people who are coming. After all they are there to watch the finale show.
-
Step 2:
-
You're Invited
-
If this is a last minute party you might want to use an electronic invitation. You will need everyone's e-mail for this one. But if you've got the time to plan ahead, then a paper invitation allows for more creativity associated with the theme. You will need everyone's address to send these out. Either way, make sure to put the date, time, place, RSVP, and any other specifics, like if costumes are required or if they need to bring anything, etc.
-
Step 3:
-
Get Into It
-
Costumes always go along with well with the theme. You can dress as the characters in the show, or just in outfits that fit the overall theme. Scrubs and nurses uniforms work well for a "Grey's Anatomy" party. Also, decorations can really pull a theme together. You don't have to spend tons of money. Simple props to support your theme can make a world of difference. Cafeteria trays, blue table clothes, blue sheets, and exam room curtains would work for our hospital theme.
-
Step 4:
-
Get The Party Started
-
Games are the best way to get your party going. Games break the ice if you have invited guests who have never met. You could try some trivia or different party games that involve everyone.
-
If most of your guests should be fellow fanatics of the series, but if they aren't make sure to get them up to speed on the show. Include a link in the invitation where they can watch some episodes. You could also have quiz questions at the beginning to bring everyone up to speed. This will make sure they aren't asking dumb questions during the actual finale.
-
Step 5:
-
Tea or Tequila?
-
It is very easy to theme your food and drink to fit the series. For the "Grey's Anatomy" example, think of hospital cafeteria type food, and have plenty of trays around to put the food on, just like you would in the cafeteria. As for the drink, naming drinks after characters is always fun as well as choosing beverages that are used on the show. Most importantly think about how easy the food will be to eat in front of the television. You might want to have snacks on the coffee table and on a table that has an easy view of the television, so no one will miss a second of the finale while eating.
-
Step 6:
-
Finally, The Finale
-
Give a ten-minute warning so everyone can get settled. Make sure everyone has food and drink. Now sit back and savor every last, lovely moment of dramatic bliss.
