How To Throw An Uppercut
We've teamed up with England qualified boxing coach, Michael Gregory to show you how to float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. In this film Michael shows you how to throw the perfect uppercut.
To throw an uppercut you can use either your lead or rear hand, and they work particularly well against rangey boxers. You will need to get inside your opponent by standing with the knees slightly bent, the feet at 45 degree angles, and then driving the fist upwards with lots of power from the legs, and paricularly the thighs.
To give extra uplift, try rotating the knees and waist. You need to drive from the front foot when using your lead hand, and from the back foot when using the rear hand. Throughout this, make sure you keep the balance in the middle of your body.

A little more focus on the technique and body movement..the upercut is a powerful and hanby blow which can be very effective if you have your leg strength behind it...Dexter.R
