I was taught this a long time ago (when I was an adolescent). The only thing I learnt was how to ensure the perfevt length every time (previously it was trial and error). Also, I always believed that the thicker ties were the easiest and best to tie. Did you know that ties originate from Croatian 17th century mercenaries? Also, that researchers from Cambridge university (UK) discovered in the 1990s that it is possible to tie a tie in 85 different knots, of which 10 are aesthetically pleasing? I know of just three knots: the schoolboy, the full Windsor (as demonstrated) and the half Windsor (my favourite, as it is not as bulky as a full Windsor knot).

Two problems... When pulling the tie tight, you should also create a divot in the center of the tie. For someone paying attention, this is the difference between someone who really knows what they're doing and someone who doesn't. Second, DO NOT pull the thin end of the tie out like that. That will also damage the tie. Remove the tie by reversing the steps you used to tie it.

An excellent demonstration of the full windsor knot. My only suggestion, echoing another anonymous person, is to show how to properly make a dimple in the front of the tie. Some suggest this adds a "sharp" look to the tie and overall presentation.

After seeing it, I finally understand! The first two through the loops builds the tie shape, and the last cross covers up shape and makes it look nice.

Excellent way to demonstrate, finally good to make a tie after using the old school boy method! I could suggest that the video needs to go just a bit slower when showing the initial two hoops that make the cross over and then the final cross over.
