In this video I'm going to tell you how to tone your body.

The best way to tone your body is to use weights but you don't necessarily have to go to the gym although all the equipment is there for you you can actually use your own bodyweight at home. It is a good idea to choose cardio workouts that use your whole body.

So, running is a great workout but it is only likely to use the lower half of your body. Using a cross trainer or going swimming is a workout that will use the entire body. Yoga and Pilates are both great low impact ways to have a cardio workout but at the same time toning your body, stretching your muscles and improving your core strength.

If your using weights to tone each part of your body remember to do them on alternate days. So, for example, you could exercise the lower part of your body on one day then do your abs the next day and maybe the upper body the following day. That way you can make sure that you don't fatigue your muscles and you give them the chance to actually recover which is when most the good work is done.

When your using weights you don't have to go for expensive weights at the gym. You can use household items like bottles of water or a can from your kitchen. Remember to start with the amount of repetitions you can handle and then gradually increase them as you become fitter and stronger.

You can gradually help to tone your body just by moving more, finding ways of walking for example taking the kids to school, maybe during your lunch break. And make sure every time your doing that you're using every part of your body by swinging your arms and doing a long stride so that you're using the full length of your leg.

It's really important that after each workout, no matter how short it is, that you stretch out those muscles.

This will make sure that you don't have as much muscle pain a couple of days later but will also lengthen the muscle and make it more healthy. Holding that stretch for 20 to 40 seconds should be adequate.

And that's how to tone your body. .
