Today I'm going to be giving you some tips and exercises to help you with your fitness. In this video I'm going to tell you how to tone your butt. Now, one of the first things that you can do is to just generally get into the habit - when you're standing, walking or even sitting at a desk or on a train - is to clench your buttock muscles.

What this means is that you'll be exercising it without even having to think too hard about it, and rather than spending hours every day in the gym, it means that you just gradually start to tone your bottom. Now, you can also do walking. When you're walking, you need to lengthen your stride.

Feel your bottom muscles working as you take each step. Now, if you haven't ever exercised your bottom, you might find that you can't feel them too much, but the more you try this, the more you'll really start to feel that toning happening. If you're running, flick your feet up at the back as if you're trying to touch your bottom at the back.

This will use the backs of your legs but also your bottom muscles, rather than the fronts of your legs. If you really want to work your butt, though, something like kick-boxing is amazing. That is how Kylie Minogue apparently got her bottom.

Now, if you want to do specific exercises, lunges and squats are probably the most effective. You need to make sure you keep your form with these, and also increase your repetitions so that you're starting off at a manageable amount, but at the same time just stretching yourself each time you do them. Now if you're going to be exercising a specific area of muscles, it's really important that you stretch after each session.

You want to be able to do these regularly, and so you don't want to be in any pain. You're also ensuring the health of your muscles as well. So, there are two really good stretches for your bottom, the first one is very simple.

You lie on your back and you keep your legs bent. Cross one foot over the thigh of the other leg, just above the knee, reach through the middle and pull back. You should feel a stretch coming all the way up there.

Don't bounce it - just keep it still, where it's comfortable, and as you feel the tension easing pull it slightly closer. And you want to be doing that for about twenty to forty seconds. The second stretch for the bottom is my favorite.

Now you need to be fairly flexible to do this one, but you'll find that the more you try it, the more flexible you become. So, what you want to do is bring your left leg up in front of you, at a right angle, in front. You then put the back leg back, and keep it as straight as you can, and the idea is to try and bring your body down parallel with the floor.

Now you should feel not only a stretch in the bottom but also up the side of the thigh there, so this is a great exercise for that. Now, again, only go as far as is just slightly comfortable, but keep pushing it further as you feel more flexible and the tension eases. And that's how to tone your butt. .
