How To Treat Planters Fasciitis
This video gives an outline of effective ways to treat Plantar Fasciitis, so you can understand the cause and numerous ways to help and cure it easily.
Today, I am going to speak to you about how to treat Plantar Fasciitis. Plantar Fasciitis is a common cause of heel pain and is often worse first thing in the morning or after periods of rest. Patients often complain of pain and limping when getting out of bed first thing in the morning, or out of a chair after resting.
The condition results in inflammation at the heel bone itself where the plantar fascia touches. Should this not be treated early, then a chronic form of it can develop and the pain can persist for many months, and even years. Treatment options are usually stretching of the calves and the arch itself, or innersoles that could be available over the counter alongside anti-inflammatories.
Should the problem persist, then a specialist may inject the heel with an anti-inflammatory such as cortisone, or issue a more specialized device to support the arch, known as a custom orthotic. Certain specialists also issue night splints to stretch the fascia and the calf muscle, allowing you to wake up with comfort. Further research into more modern techniques is taking place and some newer techniques including electro-ray shock therapy which effectively involves deep shockwaves to the heel bone to reduce inflammation as well as laser, have been shown to be successful.
Please seek help from a foot and ankle specialist for advice on how to manage your heel pain. This is how we treat Plantar Fasciitis. .
