How To Turn Off Auto-Sync In ITunes If You Have A PC

Would you prefer to control when your iPod syncs with your iTunes library on your PC? Follow these easy steps to turn off the auto-sync feature in iTunes.

You will need

Step 1:

Get Connected

Connect one end of your USB connector cable or dock into the bottom of your iPod and the other end into the USB port on your computer. Wait for iTunes to launch.

Step 2:

Manual Management

When you see the Preferences appear in your iTunes, choose Manually Manage Music and Videos.
If you don't have a video iPod, you can choose Manually Manage Music.
To the left of your iPod in the iTunes source list, you will see a gray triangle. Click on the triangle to view all of the playlists in your iPod.

Step 3:

Manual Update

To manually update your iPod, drag a song from your iTunes library and drop it into any of your iPod playlists on the left side of the screen.
You don't get any more manual than that.
