How To Twist Short Hair
This VideoJug film shows you how easy it is to twist shorter lengths of natural hair. This hairstyle is definitely fun to try.
Hi, and welcome to the Braiding Lounge Academy. My name's Lauralyn and we're going to be demonstrating some techniques on different hairstyles today on Afro hair and European hair. Okay, I'm now going to show you how to do a twist on natural hair, but this is a shorter length for natural hair, as you can see.
Okay, we're going to take a section out there, split it into two even strands and just continue to twist one strand over the other all the way down to the end of the section of hair. Now, a short hair doesn't take long, and at the end of the hair, you just roll it in between your fingers. That would normally give you a sufficient finish.
I'm going to do another section. This is for you to see. Split the hair into two even strands and then from the root, continue to put one strand over the other strand all the way down to the bottom of that piece of hair.
When you get to the bottom, fold the end into your fingers by itself and that will give you a simple twist. I'll do a last one for you to see. Try and keep your sections neat.
I actually do my sections in a Christmas tree fashion. This eliminates you having the scalp showing when the style is finished. It gives you a fuller look.
So, you continue to wrap one strand of hair over the other and then you roll in between. I wrap one strand over the other all the way down to the end and then roll between your two fingers. Okay, and here we have an example of different lengths of twist on shorter-length hair.
This is natural hair, so I started with a very small twist. You can actually twist even shorter here than this, the same technique. As you can see, I'm showing you some variations in lengths of hair on the back here and how they can all be done the same way, two strands with one twist, one strand of hair over the other strand of hair with a twist with your thumb as you are going down. .
