Learn how to type characters in subscript format which is smaller and lower than normal characters on a computer keyboard.

Today, we are here to show you how to type subscripts using the keyboard. Subscript characters are those which are smaller and lower than the rest of the text. They can be either letters or numbers.

An example of this is the symbol for water, which is H-2-O. The "2" in this is written as a subscript character. So, in order to do this, you simply have to turn the subscript mode on and you do this by pressing the control key which you will find on both the right and left hand side of the keyboard.

Then press the equals sign. Now that you have done this, you can type the character you wish to be in subscript format. Once you have done this, simply press control and the equals sign again and this will turn the subscript mode off and return to normal sized characters.
