Lyn Barwick from Pitman Training provides simple instructions on using superscript characters on the keyboard. Pressing control, shift, equal turns the mode on and off.
Today, we are here to show you how to type superscript characters using your keyboard. Superscript characters are those which are smaller and higher than the rest of the text. They can be either letters or numbers.
They are typically used as footnote markers or informatics. So in order to do this, you simply have to turn the superscript mode on, and you do this by pressing the control key, which you will find on both the right and left hand sides of the keyboard, then the shift key, which is located above the control key, followed by the equals sign. Now that you have done this, you can type the character you wish to see in superscript format.
Once you have done this, simply press control, shift, and equals again to turn the superscript mode off and return to normal size characters. And just to recap, to do this, you simply have to turn the superscript mode on, and you do this by pressing the control key, which you will find on both the right and left hand sides of the keyboard, then the shift key, which is located above the control key, followed by the equals sign. Now that you have done this, you can type the character you wish to see in superscript form.
Once you have done this, simply press control, shift, and equals again to turn the superscript mode off and return to normal sized characters. There are many different shortcuts you can learn using a computer keyboard, but the most time-saving of these is learning to type correctly.
