How To Use A Cake Tin
There's nothing worse than a cake that gets stucks to the cake tin! Alison from A & M Sugercraft shows you the perfect way to line and grease any kind of cake tin in this step-by-step guide.
You Will Need
- 1 cake tin
- greaseproof paper (or baking paper)
- 1 pencil
- 1 pair of scissors
- butter
Method
Cut out a circle of greaseproof paper for the base of the tin. If you are using a loose base tin, use the base as a template for cutting. If you are using a solid tin, use the tin as a template and cut the circle slightly smaller than the template.
For the sides, take a piece of greaseproof paper that is roughly the circumference of the tin. Fold it in half and roll it into a cylinder. Make a series of small cuts at the bottom of the roll. Open the roll out, grease the sides of the tin and and place the paper inside. Then place the circular piece of paper onto the bottom. For a square cake tin, use the same process, making sure the paper gets into the corners.
For tins than cannot be lined with paper easily, grease with melted butter and a dusting of flour.
