The wedge IS required, any idiot who doesn't use one is asking for trouble and deserves any injury sustained whilst working under or beside a jacked up vehicle same goes for using an axle stand too many people have been injured using wood or bricks. an excellent video spoken in clear ENGLISH (I am a qualified motor vehicle trainer)

a fair description if changing a wheel. however he implied that you can do repairs under the car if you have a jackstand. his was not securely located, this car could easily have fallen of the jack stand if shaken or nudged. The danger comes when you are undrneath and you pull on a spanner/wrench, this can wobble the car which then falls of the stand. Beware. my preference is locate the stand in a better place, then shake teh car more than i expect it to shake when I am under it. it is survives the wobble test I go under. if you are only changing the wheel, in an emergency by the road, most people would nto consider the stand essential.

It's good to tell where should we put the jack position. In fact, that is the reason for me to search on the web and find this video. It would be better if use two jack stands. Anyway, it is an excellent introduction for beginners. Thanks for the job.
