How To Use A Compound Bow
A compound bow can shoot much faster and further than a recurve bow. In this Videojug guide Michael Peart, professional recurve archer and reserve for the Olympic Games, shows you the basics of how to use a compound bow.
Top Tips
- A release aid is used instead of the fingers for consistency; your fingers can come off at different speeds and with different tensions, whereas the release aid makers a perfect release every time.
- A compound bow draws differently to a recurve bow; with a compound bow the weight comes on very quickly, then drops off by about three quarters, making it much steadier to aim.
