The digital spirit level gives off three beeps to let you know you've perfectly levelled some wood. It's easy to do with one hand so you don't lose your own balance in the process!
Now, I'm going to show you how to use a digital spirit level. So you turn this one on, put the sound on. You can use it with the sound or without the sound.
Without the sound, you just need to look at these symbols here. They point up or down. So, it tells you whether to push the level up this way or down that way.
So you don't need to close one eye like you might with this one and you don't need to be exactly in front of it, and so it's really a foolproof way. It just tells you exactly what to do - push it up or push it down. Then the other way - if you can't see this, you can have the sound on.
And if I get the level roughly into place, so you just need to wait for the three beeps and you know that your level is flat. There we are. The good thing about this kind of level is you don't need to be exactly in front of the level and look like this which is quite tricky.
If you're on top of a ladder and you've got a long plank that's, say attached on this side and you want to get it level you can get it onto your pattern which might be on the wall, and you climb up your ladder and then you just click the sound on, and then you get it into position, wait for the three beeps, and then you mark underneath. And that way, it's nice and perfect. Otherwise if you didn't have that, you'd have to lean over with one hand and it's potentially dangerous, you could fall off.
Whereas this way, it's nice and straight, you can remain nice and straight and make sure that you've got one hand holding and one hand marking and you're going to get it perfect. And that's how to use a digital spirit level. .
