Acrylic paints are becoming more popular, which is why they are now available in many of the same finishes as solvent-based paint. This video describes the easy steps to using acrylic paints.

I'm now going to show you how to use acrylic paints. The advantage of using acrylic paints are: they're quick-drying, there are no solvents in it, they're good for the environment. When using acrylic paints, they're absolutely the same as any conventional paint, so you use it in exactly the same way as you would do any other.

Brush along the grain. Not too much paint on. Has excellent coverage.

When you've got all the paint on, lay it off in one direction along the grain. Just repeat the process until all your panelling's done. Brush along one direction.

This will dry much quicker than an oil-based paint allowing you to continue putting further coats on at a much quicker rate. Brush off in one direction. You can now, get acrylic paints in the same finishes as all the solvent-based paints and that's high glossy, undercoats, primers, satins, and also eggshells.
