How To Use An Electronic Spirit Level

Now, I'm going to show you how to use the electronic spirit bevel. So, this one, turn it on. You've got both the traditional level on the left to give you an idea as to roughly where you are, where you need to go.

So, if I put it on the bench here, I can see over here if it's completely out of level. So what I need to do is move it up so that I hear the three beeps. When I hear the three beeps, I know it's levelled, so if I move this up gently, you'll hear the three beeps when it's level.

Now, you can see its level. You can hear its level and you can also roughly see. One really useful way of using the electronic level is when you can't be in the middle of the level to be able to see whether it's level or not so.

Say, I'm over here and I've got a long plank that I want to get level so it's fixed on the wall on that side and I'm on this side and I just slowly pull it up until I hear the three beeps. There we are. So, now I can get my pencil and make a mark underneath on this side.

Then, I know it's nice and straight. Otherwise, I'd have to bend myself all the way like this and it might not be practical on the site if I'm halfway up the ladder and there's nothing for me to hold on to. Plus, it makes it more likely to not get the right level if I'm wobbling like this.

So, here I can just concentrate on keeping the level nice and straight against the wall until I hear the three beeps and then, I make my mark. That's how to use an electronic spirit level. .
