How To Use Bmx Safety Gear
This video demonstrates the safety measures you should take before practicing to ride BMX bikes. Starting with the helmet, it describes in detail how the various safety pads can fit onto different parts of your body to prevent injuries, especially to the joints. With the required protection, you can make riding BMX a thrilling experience.
Okay, in this video, we will learn how to use BMX safety gear. Okay, starting off with, obviously, the most important part is protecting your head. Obviously, see, I have got my lid on, or helmet.
You can't really skimp on money for helmet. Obviously, it?s the most important protection while riding. I mean, if you look at this one here, it?s got high plastic cover, high in polystyrene.
Inside there is a bit of padding for comfort. Really simple to use, really the hardest bit is probably adjusting the strap and tying it up. It comes with a little clasp which is easy to use.
You get them in a bag nowadays, school bags or whatever. You can't skimp on a helmet. Okay, next most important part I find is protecting your knees.
So, I have got the knee pads underneath my jeans and they do make them slim enough and small enough now to go into these skinny jeans, you know, slim fit jeans. I mean, the knee is a very complicated joint, so it takes forever to heal even if you are a youngster, it?s going to take a while healing. Now, obviously, knees are good ones to protect and obviously, another joint are your elbows.
As you can see, I took a few hits on there, I have got my pads right here. Now, again, they are not going to be as beefy or as hard as the knee ones. But it is like a smaller version, as you can see, very flimsy, it needs to be flimsy for you to move, plenty of ventilation, an old model, it?s not the latest one.
But just a general model, there will have the same sort of thing. Just a sleeve, slide on, this is exactly how you do the knee one, you just slide it over the part where you need it and make sure it?s in position. Then you have just got simple Velcro straps, just to nip it up and keep you there.
And as you can see, full movement with maximum protection on the elbow. Okay, next one is going to be the shin one. So, got the other shin on there, I'll just slide them up, as you can see, held them with Velcro strap on the back, plenty of ventilation, and now, what you have got in there is you have got a firm layer of plastic case inside.
So, at worst, especially if you got pedals, you know, when the pedals with the pins dig into your shin, so it?s nice to have these. Now, going onto gloves, not a specific model, but while you have to ride, you need just a thin layer because obviously, when you are going to ride a lot, you are going to sweat a lot as well. Your pants will get sweaty under the grips.
A lot of people prefer not to ride with gloves but obviously chose their own, I prefer gloves. All we got in this particular glove is just a thin layer of material. I just can feel the handle bars and the grips because you need to feel when you are throwing the bars or pulling the brake especially on the handles, you don't want to miss the bars.
Okay, that's how to use BMX safety gear.
