How To Use Essential Oils
This film shows us how to use essential oils to make our homes smell wonderful by choosing from an array of favourite scents of essential oils. It's very interesting. All you need is a candle burner and some oil. How easy is that? And it's all natural!
In this video, I'm going to show you how to use essential oils. Essential oils aren't oils as such but they're volatile plant extracts, they can be steamed distilled from the twigs, leaves and flowering tops, or in the case of citrus oils, they're expressed from the rind or peel. Essential oils are really concentrated so you should never use them directly on the skin as they can be quite irritant, always dilute them first in either a carrier oil, or in as I'm going to show you how to do today, in an oil burner.
For this, you'll need an oil burner, a night light candle, some water and the essential oil blend of your choice. Today, we're going to use an oil burner with a candle. You can also buy plug-in versions as well that use electricity but today, we are going to use a candle.
Firstly, you'll need to light the candle to get the heat going in order to evaporate the oil so we'll just place that inside the burner. Next, it's really important to add some water to the top well of your burner. If you don't do this and if you put the oil straight on to the oil burner, as it evaporates, it will leave quite a sticky mess, so don't forget to add the water.
Next, just add a few drops of the essential oil of your choice. You can either use one or a blend. And that's one way to use essential oils.
