How To Use Hair Benders

My name is Anna Howgley, I work here at Saco's in London. Today I'm going to show you a few different styling techniques for hair. In this video I'm going to show you how to use hair benders.

You will need hair benders, today I have soft pleated hair benders, you will need a brush, tight comb, section grips and aerosol spray. We start of spraying the hair lightly with the aerosol spray, don't put in too much product it will make it difficult to work with because the hair gets sticky, just a little bit to make the curls last.

I will start on the top, section off a couple inches wide section around the crown area.

We will go around the bender once, I use the tight comb just to tuck in the ends so you don't get loops in the end, just use the tight comb as you roll the bender down the hair just to help those loose ends inside the curler. When you get all the way down you just bend the ends in. This was started on the top because all the ends are going to point upwards, so just get it out of your way.

I'm going to work in a block system today just so we don't get any partings, any lines in one particular place. So now I section it off in the middle.

I'll start in the middle again, if you want lots of volume, you really pull the hair up just so the bender ends up a little higher than this sectioning.

You can see here the hair is pulled up a little bit, this adds more volume to the hair, if you want to go a bit flatter just pull this section down. So that the hair isn't pushed up so much right from the roots. After leaving the heated rollers in for about twenty minutes until it gets time to cool down properly, you just unwind them carefully and make sure they don't get tangled.

Look at how bouncy it is, separate it nice with your fingers. And that's how to use hair benders. .
