How To Use Jasmine Essential Oil
This video shows the making of a jasmine and coconut oil with inexpensive ingredients to treat dry ends and fly-away bits in hair. Detailed steps are shown and explained. All ingredients are natural and proportions are provided.
Today, I'm going to show you how to use Jasmine Oil. Jasmine Oil has a rich, sweet aroma and it's used extensively in perfumery. It's quite an expensive oil so it's often blended with Ylang Ylang to help it go further.
Today, I'm going to show you how to use Jasmine Oil as a hair treatment in a coconut oil base. For this, you'll need 50 grams of coconut oil, a clean glass jar and some jasmine absolute. You'll need ten drops of that or you could mix a blend of five drops jasmine with five drops of Ylang instead.
And you'll also need a pan of hot water to melt the coconut oil in. So, step one, we're going to melt the coconut oil by standing it in a pan of hot water. Now, coconut oil does have quite a low melting point so that should melt down quite quickly.
We need to just melt it until it's all completely liquid. Now, the coconut oil is completely melted, we're going to remove that from the heat and stir in ten drops of jasmine oil. Give that a stir so it's all completely blended in and then finally, we're going to pour the blend into a clean jar and leave that to set.
You can place it in the fridge to speed up the process. So I've just taken the treatment out of the fridge now and it's nice and solid and it's ready to use. I'm going to show you how you can use this on the ends of dry hair with the help of my lovely assistant Shawn.
So, Shawn's got quite thick hair and you can just take a small amount, rub it between your fingertips and then just massage that in to the ends of the hair like so. You don't need a lot at all. This will help smooth out any fly-away bits or any dry ends.
You can also use this as a hair treatment. So, you can massage it into your scalp and into the lengths of your hair before you shampoo. Wrap your hair in a towel and leave it for a couple of hours.
And then once your treatment has thoroughly sunk in, you can massage the shampoo into the hair before rinsing and that will help to rinse the oil and the coconut oil out of the hair. And that's how to use jasmine oil.
