Make-up artist Lisa Glassock shows you how to use make-up brushes to get a professional looking finish. Get the look you want with VideoJug's simple steps to use make-up brushes.

Step 1: Blusher brush

Use angled blusher brushes to get into the socket line and for applying highlighter to the tops of the cheeks. Blusher brushes are useful for applying powder to the whole face, giving a light even finish.

Step 2: Eye shadow brush

An eye shadow brush can be used to apply eye shadow all over the lid, and can be used to apply concealer into the tiny corners and lines of the eyes.

Step 3: Lipstick brush

A lipstick brush gives an even coverage of lipstick, and is wide but also thin and tapered for effective application in the ‘cupids bow' and lip corners.

Step 4: Eyeliner brush

An eyeliner brush, with long bristles and a fine point, can get in between eyelashes and gives very fine, neat detail.

Step 5: Care

If you use synthetic brushes, clean them regularly to keep them in good condition.

Ideally spend more to get brushes made from natural hair.

Hi Lisa, I'm from the Philippines and I was just browsing through the net to get information on how to put make-up in general. I find your videos very informative, you make it look so easy and it puts more confidence for one to try to put make-up. Honestly, I think, most of us are not really that bold to try out stuff, especially make-up. And it's really nice how you explain things so clear. Thanks a bunch! I've learned a lot... :) (you're a life saver!)

Hello everyone! Even though all of these comments are old I'm still going to answer!! 1) You clean them with a makeup brush cleaner and just follow the instructions on the bottle or you can use shampoo and a conditioner. But remember to let your brushes dry by just laying them down on a paper towel. 2) Makeup brushes can be made with hair that ranges from horse, goat, badger and so on. They can also be made with synthetic hair. To find out call or email the company and make sure to mention the brush you are curious about. 3) It is probably better to have more eye shadow brushes than any other. If you need a better explanation on that send me an email at raelyn@eyepaintmakeup.com and just mention that you seen this on video jug! 4) The best brushes to buy aren't always the most expensive ones. When you go to a store to buy brushes, test the brush out by sweeping the bristles of the brush on the back of your hand. If it is soft then it is a keeper! If it is rough then try a different brand for that type of brush! If anyone has any other questions check out my website (www.eyepaintmakeup.com) and all my contact info is on there! Ciao! - Raelyn
