Hi there, I'm Paula Seabright. I'm a freelance hair and makeup artist. I mainly work in TV and film but I can still remember what its like to be confused about makeup, so I thought Id come along today to show you some different looks and hopefully give you some new tips and tricks.

Okay, now I'm going to show you how to use a matte pressed powder. I've already applied a base to the face and a pretty eye makeup look. So I'm using a really soft, fluffy brush to apply this.

You can also use a powder puff which Ill show you in a second. But I just want quite a light coverage for this look. I'm just taking the product onto my brush, swirling it around and tapping off the excess and literally I'm just going to give a very light dusting of the powder all over the face to set the foundation and just take away a little bit of the shine.

This will help your makeup last longer as well.

The other way that you can apply matte powder is you can take a powder puff like this, you can buy these in any pharmacy really locally, Boots, Super Drug, all that kind of thing. And just push the puff into the compact and then you press into the skin, paying particular attention to the T zone area that tends to get more oily so I'm pressing it right in there.

And this kind of gives you a heavier coverage of the powder and a longer lasting effect. And then with a soft fluffy powder brush, just brush away the excess and that's how you use matte press powder. .
