How To Use Notes In Entourage
VideoJug shows you how to use notes in Entourage with this great film. Notes in Entourage allow you to do so much more than a simple post it on your desk - so utilise Entourage to it's full potential now - the VideoJug way.
Step 1: New Note
Once you've opened Entourage, go to the main page. In the upper-left corner, select "Notes". When the notes mode comes on, put the arrow to the picture of the plus and notebook and click "New".
Step 2: Title
Too often, people write a vague subject line, and when they skim through later, they have no idea what its contents are. Be as specific as possible.
Step 3: Get Noting
Write yourself an organized, comprehensive note. Entourage allows you to change the font style and size, use bold, italics and underline. You can use teletype, which makes all the character size 10, in Monaco font, using equal spacing between letters.
You can focus your text on the left (which is the default), line it up in the center, or the right. You can use a numbering system and bullet points. Another button allows you to indent your numbers and bullet points. You can change the color of the font and the background.
You can add a line to separate sections. One useful feature is the ability to add the date and time, which is especially useful, if you'll be making updates to the note.
Step 4: Jazz It Up
Insert a picture. Add a background picture to go behind the text of your note. Add a sound file or a movie.
Step 4: Organize
Now that your note is written, you can categorize it or make it part of a project. When you look at the Notes main page, the color of your note will match the color of the category you assigned. The dot on your project will match the color of the project you assigned to it.
Now, you can link it to another file, print and of course save.
Step 5: Combine And Find
Repeat steps one through five, until all your random notes are in one place. Take all your old sticky notes and decide which are important. Combine different random notes wherever possible, typing all those scattered thoughts into the computer, then recycling the paper.
Now, instead of sifting through your notes by hand, you can simply do a "Find" search, and have the information right at your fingertips.
