How To Use Stunt Pegs

Hey guys, I'm a BMX flat lander. My name is Mario Carelse and I ride for Team Extreme and I'm going to be showing you some BMX tips and hints. For how to use your stunt pegs, basically, most BMX bikes will come with stunt pegs.

It's an important part of the bike especially if you're looking to do tricks. They're used in all aspects of BMX, whether it be vert, street, flat land. They're very important especially in flat land.

We run four pegs, and we have grip tape on top which gives us loads of grip. These pegs are actually made of plastic. They're a special compound, which is super tough, but also extremely light which doesn't really add any extra weight to your bike.

So if you buy a standard bike and you've got big metal pegs on it, you can take them off, you can buy yourself some plastic ones. That's going to reduce the weight of your bike, but your bike is still going to be just as strong. There are so many tricks that can be done with stunt pegs.

Front wheel and back wheel, using a combination of the both. They're really important and you can have some really nice looking tricks and ideas will come from actually standing in different positions on your pegs. It's definitely worth having.

I'd recommend it if you're going to be flat landing definitely have your stunt pegs. I'm going to show you a couple of moves using the stunt pegs. Now, these are just basic moves.

It's going to be one trick using the rear stunt pegs, and one trick using the front stunt pegs. I'm going to do a peg wheelie for you on the back to demonstrate the use of back pegs. And I'm going to do a trick called a Hang Five on the front, which is effectively is a front wheel wheelie.

But, we will do those for you and you can see how the pegs are used in relation to those tricks. And that's just a couple of examples on how to use your stunt pegs on the front and the back wheels. .
