How To Use The LinkedIn IPhone App

This Videojug film gives you an overall idea of various options in LinkedIn IPhone app, how to search for contacts and post updates to Facebook and Twitter at the same time.

In this video, I am going to show you how to use LinkedIn IPhone app. To use LinkedIn with your iPhone, go to the app. When you are in LinkedIn, you have a few different options, you will be able to go to updates, the people in your Facebook connections you have made, you got your profile, you got your groups or you can go to your inbox.

So, let's first look at the first option. Now, let's say you want to post an update from LinkedIn. Click on the speech bubble and that's where you can go to your status update, you can choose whether you want to update this post on Twitter as well.

You can also choose who you want the update to be visible to, whether it's anyone or just your connections. You can also click on the magnifying glass to carry out searches. You may be in a meeting with somebody where they are looking to meet one of your contacts, you may have 500 plus contacts, so it's hard sometimes to find the person you are looking for.

Well, what's good about the search is you can do a keyword search. So, for example, say I am meeting somebody who wants to meet any contacts I have got who work in hotels, I could type in 'hotel'. Now, what it does is it automatically brings up people whose profile has anything to do with hotels.

See, you got two contacts already, plus there are lots of people in my network. Once you finish the search, you can just click cancel if there is somebody you want to look up. 'Updates' is where people have done status updates.

This is really what you see when you are on the LinkedIn homepage. Here are the people in my LinkedIn network and these are all the status updates they have made today. It's very similar, if you are logged to Facebook wall, where people post status updates.

This is my inbox, there is where I can go to view both invitations and messages people have sent me. I could just go into a message to read it, delete it, reply to it or archive it. If you want to start a new mail message, just click on the 'Compose' symbol at the top, and then you can do any message or new invitations.

And then, we have got Facebook groups, and this is where I can go to look up a Facebook group I am a member of. So, here are the first few groups, if I click on this arrow, you can see some of the Facebook groups - this is Brainstorm Design. I finally have my profile where I can go and just highlight my LinkedIn profile and I can see what I have posted and if I click on my settings, I can go in and edit my profile.

And that's how you use LinkedIn IPhone app.
