How To Use The Pokewalker

If you have just recently purchased a Pokewalker for your Nintendo DS or are having trouble using yours this short tutorial will answer many questions. In the video you are shown step by step directions for connecting you Pokewalker to your DS and transferring Pokemon.

Hi My name's Charles Scott and I'm an administrator at thepikaclub.co.uk.

I've been playing Pokemon for over 10 years and I pride myself on knowing everything there is to know about Pokemon. In this video I'm going to show you how to use the Pokewalker attachment. The Pokewalker looks like this, currently in standby mode.

It has three buttons left, right, and the center button. The center button is your selector. If you press it, and hold it, your screen comes on using the left and right buttons you can get to the menu.

Now there are various mini games on here including Radar and Item Finder. The center button is the main one, Connect. This is the option that will allow you to connect not only to the games themselves but to other Pokewalkers.

So in order to use the Pokewalkers we need a Pokemon in it, so we're going to transfer a Pokemon from Heart Gold into the Pokewalker. Now in order to do that we go onto Heart Gold and we press start at the press start screen. Now we've got a menu on the bottom screen so we touch the option connect to Pokewalker and we'll pick go for a stroll.

So we select a Pokemon from the box. I'm going to pick a Pikachu and I'm going to put it into this box on the right. Now I get to transfer this Pikachu to the Pokewalker.

Now you're going to need a flat surface to do this as that's the best for the response for the infrared. The top end of the Polkewalker is facing the game card. And then I select connect on the menu of the Polkewalker and click enter.

And at this point the Pikachu goes from the DS onto the Polkewalker. Now you can go for a stroll. Take it out, put it in your pocket, walk around with it.

As you walk around you gain steps. For every 10 steps you get a watt. Watts are used as the currency in the Pokewalker.

You'll need them to search for other Pokemon, to catch, or to use the item finder to get items. Whether you do this or not is up to you. But once you've collected everything you want, and you want to return from a stroll, you just follow a similar process.

So again you've gone to the DS you select connect to Pokewalker and this time you'll pick return from a stroll. Again it will be set up to connect from the Pokewalker so you select connect, press the button and the Pikachu goes from the Polkewalker back to the DS. And that is everything you need to know about the Polkewalker.
