Hi, my name is Ricardo Macedo and I'm here today to give you some good tips and show you how to do some exercise. We are here in my gym in Kensington, London W8. So you can find us on the website, www.

r-fitness.co.uk.

So come with me and we're going to show you some tips. Here we go. Hi.

How to use the treadmill. The treadmill is a great piece of equipment. The treadmill is a great way to get fit.

It has much less impact than your running on the street. Good way to start is the safety device, this, clip into your clothes. There's a quick start button, so let's do it.

Press the quick start button and the treadmill is going to start moving. The best way to do it is start to slowly walk. Walk, increase the speed, walk a little bit faster as a warm up.

So once you feel warm enough, start raising your temperature and your joints feel a little bit looser, then you can increase the speed and start jogging. Three to five minutes of warm up would be the ideal. Once you're running, make sure you keep yourself in the center, your feet point straight.

Make yourself comfortable, not too stressed. Some treadmills have two handles in the front, where they can read your heart rate. So if you can just hold here for me, thank you.

Now, you can monitor your heart rate. So with the treadmill, it depends on the brand. You've got many different options.

You've got many different workouts. You've got weight loss, fat burning, endurance, muscle running, 5k running. So you've got many different features.

Another good thing is if you can enter your details such as weight, height, age, they can give you more accurate calories burned. So you can see how much you're burning an hour, or half an hour or however many you've done. Another thing is you can make it more challenging without increasing the speed.

Just increase the level. Start running uphill. So, my friend Penny's got a great time.

She loves working out. As you can see, she has a big smile. So make yourself feel comfortable, no too much struggling.

You don't want to lose the pace, almost feel like you're going to fall off the machine. As you can see, she's a tough cookie. So this little chord is a safety device.

If she can't cope and suddenly she falls off the machine, the machine will automatically shut off. Bring it back down, also you have a stop button. If anything happens, if she doesn't feel very well, press the button, the machine will stop.

So many different features. Each brand is going to have a different feature for you. So to use it, keep safe, increase speed gradually, and do the best for your work out. .
