Hello, my name is Kat Sinclair. I am a professional face painter. I have been painting for eight years.

I am going to show you useful tips, tricks and techniques for doing your own face painting at home. I am going to show you how to use UV body paints. UV paints will glow under ultra violet light which is great for night clubs and they only come in a range with about seven or eight colors though, so I am going to show you how to make the most of them.

Here I have got four colors in the pallet and I am going to use the UV red and the UV yellow. So I would load up the sponge. I have already sprayed the paints with water because these require a lot more water than a normal face paint would, in order to get them to work because they are very dry paints.

So keep going until you have loaded it up nicely and you have got both colors on one sponge. Now, I am going to do the design on the shoulder here. So we are going around there.

It is a lot harder to blend these colors than it is with normal paints. So I am trying to get them to go into a nice circle. Obviously, you will find that you have to keep reloading the sponge if you are doing a large area.

So I'm making a shape like this and blending it into the yellow in the middle there. So that's the base color and now I'm going to put a black design on top of that and that will block out the UV so that when it's under black lights, you will be able to see the design very clearly against a very bright background. So what I am going to paint is a tribal style scorpion.

So over here, I am painting the body. You can make that as big as you like. And here I am going to do the pincers which are a bit like crab's claws.

And then you go do a tear drop, two tear drops together. Make it nice and sharp and pincer-y. And then just drawing them on to the body with short strokes, and then for the legs, made the brush so that it is nice and flat and then do some nice pointy legs.

Just three each side. And of course, we have to do the scorpion's tail which is a tear drop with a very sharp point coming up like that. And then join the tail on to the body going around making these shapes until you join up with the body.

And that's how to do UV body painting. .
