How To Use Xbox 360 Parental Controls
The Xbox 360 parental controls feature allows you to monitor how your family uses the Xbox. This video shows you how to set up a pass code as well as how to restrict games that can be played on the console based on age limit.
One of the nice features on the Xbox is the ability to set up parental controls for your family and this lets you specify what age games you can play and how long you play for, and basically, it's a nice way to understand how your family uses the 360 so I'm going to tell you how to set this up now. The first thing you'll see when you turn the Xbox on is the different menus. If you go in to the first menu, work your way along until you get to the point that says Family Settings.
Press A and this will bring up the console safety menu. Click On, then you can access the different settings that you can specify for your family and then set the pass code and a fictional character. Once you've done that, click done.
Go to save and exit, and that's family settings enabled. A nice example of something you can set in your family settings is the age limit for games played on the console. If you go into family settings again, enter the pass code, and then select Ratings and Content.
See the top item there, Game Ratings, you can specify the age you need to be to play games on this console. Go up and down, press A and then you can see the current settings specified there. Press B to go back, save and exit, and there you've specified the age rating for this console.
So, there you go. We've gone in and we test out family setting s, we've specified a pass code so only we can change them and we've specified an age limit for the games that can be played on this console. So, that's how you set up Xbox 360 family settings. .
