How To Vote With An Absentee Ballot
You want to vote, but you're too lazy to go to the polls? Planning on sleeping through Election Day? No problem! Learn how to vote with an absentee ballot, and make your voice heard! You don't even have to get out of bed to do it!
-
Step 1:
-
Refuse To Leave The House
-
Who says you have to go to the polls to vote? You can vote right from home. Apply for an absentee ballot. You can do it by mail. Find details online by searching for "absentee ballot application" in your community, or by calling your Secretary of State's office. Just make sure you do it at least a week before the election, and that you're already registered. Not registered? Then start that process NOW so that if you miss this election, at least you'll be ready for the next one.
-
Step 2:
-
Stay In Bed
-
Wait patiently until your absentee ballot arrives in the mail. When it does, open it and read the instructions CAREFULLY. You may have to ink a dot next to your candidate's name. You may have to punch out a circle or square to make your choice. Different communities use different ballots, and it's your responsibility to use yours correctly so that your vote is counted.
-
Step 3:
-
Don't Get Up
-
Seal up your ballot, according to instructions, and send it in before the deadline. That's it. You've voted. You've done your civic duty. You've made your voice heard. Now, you can rest easy.
