How To Wallpaper Around Corners

Wallpapering a flat, unobstructed wall makes for an easy job. But every room has corners, and this can make life trickier. This guide will show you how to decorate around corners

Step 1: You will need

  • 1 wallpaper
  • 1 measuring tape
  • 1 paste
  • 1 pencil
  • 1 knife
  • 1 seam roller

Step 2: Measure Distance

Measure the distance from the edge of the last strip of paper or the wall to the corner. Do this at the top as well as at the bottom of the strip. Then take the wider of those two measurements and add 1/2 inch. Cut the next strip of paper vertically to this measurement.

Step 3: Paste

Paste and hang this strip, butting it to the edge of the previous strip or wall and running around the corner. Smooth it on both walls and trim at the top and bottom as necessary.

Step 4: Hang the next roll

Hang the next roll of wallpaper so overlaps the last roll and sits flush with the corner. Smooth both edges together and use a seam roller to flatten them to the wall. Another job well done.
