Today I'm going to be taking you through a series of videos including hair care tips, styling product knowledge and how to use certain hair equipment.

Hi on this video I'm going to be giving you tips on how to wave hair using a flat iron. The equipment you need is very simple and all you will need is your flat iron, sectioning clips and a heat protection spray.

I'm using Redken Iron Silk it's very good at creating curls or waves or any kind of texture without being too hard on the hair.

All you are going to do is spray the product from root to tip of the hair, run your fingers through just to make sure you don't have any tangles so that when you are ironing the iron passes through easily. Take a small section of hair since small sections are easier to wave, place the iron in horizontally and do a wave effect by going up and under all the way through the hair.

If you hair has a tendency to drop really easily it's better to do this in really small sections all the way through. When you do a next one if you have started your first section over than start the next one under to build up a varied shape to the hair rather than it being to precise or regimented.

Continue working through, do each of the sides and the top.

Always start at the back since it is easier when you do get to the front where you can actually see where you are working. When you are finished you use a flexible hair spray and give it a light mist all over. This prevents the style from going frizzy during the night or when out and give it a light hold during the day.

This is basically how you would wave hair using a flat iron.
