How To Wear A Long Dress

Hi, I am Zoe Lem, a stylist and the owner of My Sugarland. Today, I am going to give you some insider's tips that has to do with fashion. I am going to show you how to wear a long dress.

So, worn a lot through summer or for evening, a lot of people make mistakes when they are doing a long dress for evening. And you need to make sure that you don't make yourself look like a Christmas tree. So, don't go too much and wearing the right pieces.

This dress has got the pattern on it, so it slightly breaks up because a long dress is a lot of fabric. So, you have to break up that shape so that it doesn't look too heavy on you and you can still see your shape. So, the darker pieces come underneath the bust here and the pattern on this is your accessories for a lot of it.

But, you don't want to pull out the colors that you have got in this. You have got a grey you have got a black and you have got a white. You use those colors to pull out your accessories.

So, we have got this great snaky style platform here by Harvard, really comfortable so for your evening dress. You have got to dance all night and not get uncomfortable. I am pulling out those colors but it is not matching.

So we are not going for exactly same tones in block color. It's broken up. So again it gives you the height but, it is not going to be too much.

Pulling out our same feel or within the same theme but it is not matching matching. This is great because it has got a chain for the evening and a clutch if you want to just hold it for something really glam. And then we are going to go for a head piece.

So again, pulling out the feel. It's all within that texture, a classic kind of style. Rather than doing earrings or actually necklace on this, we are going for a head piece and then we are going for maybe a ring or bracelets, but again perfect shape imitating the shapes within the dress.

If you are going for a long dress for daytime, again same principles, it's about creating that style, the overlook, the balance of color. So pull out colors from in that fabric. Keep a nip tin.

You can do a bow underneath the bust to break up. You have also got the length of fabric in the long dress. Break up with a bow underneath the bust or on the waist and then pulling out the accessories so the length and long beads and long necklaces and then you can still do with the flap that you have got the length that you can shape through.
