Hi. I'm Zoe Lem, stylist and owner of My Sugarland, and today, I'm going to give you some insider's tips on how to do fashion. I'm now going to show you how to wear a mini dress.

It's really important to get the balance right. So here's the dress. We need to look overall.

When people see you, they see head to toe. They don't just see the garment, they don't just see the bit you don't like, the leg, the arm, the ankle. Everyone's got their hang-ups.

They look at the whole thing. So, the accessories are a really good way to balance everything out both the colour and shape. So it's pulling out the colours that you've got.

So obviously, in here, we've got the silver, we've got black. So to balance from head to toe, we're going bring out those two colours, so bring the balance head to toe, so fab sparkling necklace. This is an evening look so you can go for it a little bit.

So to balance out so we've got the black here, the silver balancing the two. Bracelets - I would layer it out - one could look a bit old-fashioned of the 80's but if you layer them up, again, it can create a bit of a modern look. Bringing out the metallics - these are kind of silvery-gold but you can get away with metallic of mixing silver and gold, it looks really good now.

People used to not do it but it works. So the metallic shoes, the bracelets and then you've got a lot of leg out. Most people, especially women who don't want to show quite as much legs, so you can go for some tights.

The tights can be accessories. These days, there are loads of great different options so something with a bit of embellishment, something with prints, something with a little bit of detail. The black or the black and white can be a really great option to make it look a little bit different.

You're going out you want something to wear with it, it's cold especially in this country, so if you want to catch it up, a really nice little knitwear again, a loose shape, you've got quite a structure piece underneath. So, going for something loose on top can really balance out and really kind of mix up the textures or go with the glammy kind of style and something a little more of a jacket so going with this line. This is a waistline so you want a jacket that kind of knits in at the same point otherwise the whole balance of the outfit is going to be wrong.

So, black to balance in with the black and a little bit of sparkling details, metallics and silvers and shine are really great for brightening the face. So it can be a really good look but you need to get these final pieces right otherwise it can really ruin the whole silhouette. .
