How To Wear A Polo Shirt

Hi. I'm Carla Leenders and I'm a stylist with Styling For Men. Today, I'm going to show you how to style your wardrobe.

Polo shirts are a staple of most men's wardrobe and every man has a polo shirt lurking around in there somewhere. Traditional polo shirts like this can, of course, just be worn on their own or if it's a little bit colder, you could layer it up with another little t-shirt underneath. I would think it looks great, if you're trying to look casual, if you keep your polo collars up.

That way, it's just a little bit less formal and a little bit less smart. If you want to make sure you're still wearing your summer polos in the winter, then the best way to do that is to layer them up. Get a long sleeved t-shirt in a nice tonal colour and pop it underneath your polo.

What you want to do is just make sure that you've got the arms and a little bit of the neck and even a little bit of the hem still poking out so that people can see that you've got a layer underneath. It's also a great way to help elongate any shorter polos. So, layer a t-shirt underneath, make sure a little bit's poking out of the neckline and that's a really good way to layer up your polo shirt.

Polos like these which are knitted can look really smart and are great when teamed which just a nice pair of smart jeans. It also makes a nice alternative to wear than a shirt. Polos like this can also be layered over by putting on a nice cardigan.

Go for something with a deep V like this so you can still see the collars over the top of your cardigan. Go for something in a nice tonal colour. So, for example with red, go for navy or a nice charcoal.

If you're wearing a burgundy colour like this, then a polo shirt in a black or charcoal again will look really great. Lastly, with a polo shirt like this, one that's knitted, you can always layer a white t-shirt underneath or a white vest. Make sure you leave your collar open so you get a little bit of the neckline showing.
