How To Wear Green Eye Liner
This VideoJug film is designed to show you how to apply green eyeliner properly and provides some excellent information on skin tones and other factors as well.
Hi. I'm Faye from simplyfaye dot co dot uk. I've been a make-up artist for twenty years and I'm going to give you some tips on how to apply make-up.
In this video, I'm going to show you how to wear green eyeliner. There are many different shades of green. If I show you my colour wheel, then you can see.
There's a bright green. There's a dark green. You've got some yellowy greens as well.
Some khaki greens. It really depends on the skin tones and the age of the person. Now, the bright greens are best on younger skins because they can be quite dramatic.
An olive darker green would probably be better for a more mature person as it's a softer alternative to a black eyeliner and it's a bit more understated than your bright greens. Olive greens are also very very good for Mediterranean skin types. You've also got blue greens as well which are very good for people with paler skins.
What you have to also look at is the color of the eyes. If someone's got bright green eyes, you have to use a contrasting type of green to enhance the color of the eye. If you've got bright green, then I would use something more understated, say a darker green, maybe like a forest green and that will bring out the color of the eyes more.
If you've got brown eyes, you're the lucky ones because you can use whatever color green you want. If you've got blue eyes, again, you have to be a little bit more careful not to use too much of the blue greens. But you could maybe use a bright green or maybe a lemony green if that makes sense, if you want to go with a funky look.
First of all, I'm going to show you how to apply a subtle green. This is more like a forest green which is quite dark in color but it's got green undertones. This is a gel eyeliner and I'm just applying it to my brush now.
This is best applied as a very thin neutral eyeliner very close to the lashes. I'm skimming across the lashes almost as if I'm drawing on the lashes because we want to get it right in close. We're not going right into the corner of the eye because this has a tendency to close up the eyes.
Make sure that the product is quite dense and close to the lashes. The next thing I'm going to do is I'm going to clean my brush and we're going to go on with a different type of eyeliner. This is actually an eye shadow but can be used wet as an eyeliner.
We're going to put something a bit brighter and a bit more avant-garde onto the eyes. I'm going to dip my brush into my little tub of water. This is going to run across the top of our darker eyeliner.
This can be worn on it's own as well because this is a bit more of a dramatic shade. I'm actually going to bring it out into a little flick at the side. All you need to do is just bring your brush out and flick up.
That gives a bit more drama to the eye. And that's how to apply green eyeliner. .
