When you're choosing khaki shorts, there are a couple of things to bear in mind. First of all, whether or not you've got a curvy lower body or whether you've got a straight lower body, and when we're talking about curvy bodies, I'm looking for a slight curve on the hip, slight curve on the bottom, or if you've got quite boyish hips, straight hips, straight bottom. Generally going for a khaki short of this style, there's lots and lots of detailing around the waist, lots of pocket detailing, zips, they're also quite short.

I would recommend putting this style on somebody who had slightly straighter hips and bottom because this bulks out that area. This would add fullness and volume if you already have curves on the hips and bottom so I would avoid this particular type of style if you're curvy on the lower half. So, straight on the lower half, go for as much detailing as you like around the hip.

You can end it at a slightly higher level. If you're curvier on the lower half, the fabric of this is quite soft, as you can see, which will flow very nicely over fuller hips and bottom. What I would recommend looking for, however, if you've got curves, is avoiding this type of detailing right here around the widest point of the hips and bottom, which tends to draw the eye over, and also being aware of where the shorts end.

This type of a turn-up will be great if you've got straighter legs and if you've got not too much curve around the middle part of the thigh. However, if you've got quite a lot of curve in the thigh, I would try to go for slightly longer length, probably just above the knee, which will be very, very flattering with a soft fabric, minimal detailing. Now, to style these types of shorts up, they have that real cargo, utilitarian, very urban feel.

You could play a safari theme with this, wear this with a wedge heel, maybe with other neutral colors, style it up with some bangles, maybe with zebra print, put a wood bangle together with that. You might put that also with some metallic shoes, flats of some sort. If you're curvy and you're going for the slightly longer version, I would definitely put that with a slight heel to avoid having that girl scout look.

Give yourself a little bit of height and style that up with possibly a slightly more fitted upper top, upper body, nothing too flowy or bulky on the upper half. Keep the line quite sleek and streamlined. And those are a few tips on choosing khaki shorts for women. .
