I'm going to show you how to wear a quilted jacket. Quilted jackets can scare a lot of people because they can add a lot of bulk to your frame and it can make you look a lot bigger than you are. But they're a really great investment for winter and they can help keep you really warm without having to put lots of chunky layers on.

My advice would be to go for something that's quite fitted. Don't go for any of these puffer jackets that are just square or shapeless because that is going to add bulk to you and it's not particularly flattering. Something like this has got a nice waist built into it.

It's a really good way to still define your figure without making you look bulky or heavy. Also, something like this that's got a really nice fashion feature like a high neck is a really good way to still buy into the trend without looking like you've put something on to keep warm. So, you can be stylish and fashionable but still warm.

Also, go for the best quality possible when it comes to buying quilted jackets. Something like this, which is made of a really fine down, is not overly huge but it's super super warm so it's definitely going to keep you warm in the winter but it doesn't have to be something heavy or something that weighs you down. Because this is such a statement jacket and because this is quite big, I would suggest keeping everything else really really slim.

So, team it with your skinny jeans, this plain long sleeve t-shirt, you're not going to need a lot of chunk or very heavy knit underneath something like this. For warmth on your feet, put some cute little Ugg boots on and then just get one killer accessory that's going to offset it. So, something like this leopard print scarf which is a really big trend this season is just going to set your jacket off.

Add a little bit of flair to it, put some colour into your outfit, but not detract from your jacket which you want to be your key statement piece. Lastly, when you're buying a jacket like this, make sure you look after it well. In order to keep it fluffed up and to keep it warm, you have to make sure it gets washed regularly.

You can wash jackets like these at home in the same way you would a duvet or a pillow. It can go in on a simple rinse and a simple gentle cycle in your washing machine and then just leave it to air dry and that will puff up nicely again. If you keep wearing your jacket without doing the regular washing, it will go flat.

In order to keep it looking nice and cozy and also in order to keep it nice and fluffy and warm, you need to make sure you're doing those regular washes. And that's how to wear a quilted jacket. .
