A professional make- up artist demonstrates how to apply a shimmery make-up look using everyday brands and techniques on choosing the colors and its application.
I'm going to show you how to do shimmer make up. I've already prepped Sue's face with Shiseido foundation and applied a little skin illuminator on the cheekbone. I'm going to start the eye area.
I've got my Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer which I'm going to use under the eye. Just to get rid of any dark shadows. Blend that in, also on the eyelid as well.
I'm going to use L'Oreal Colour Infallible - a pale shade called "Time Resist White" as an eye base to start with, and literally going to use my finger to pat and blend this in. So, starting off at the brow bone and apply it all over for a nice shimmery look. You could even use that there, actually, as a highlighter and blend that through.
It's a little duo purpose product there. So, blend that through for a sort of shimmer. Carry on blending.
This is really long lasting as well. Next, I'm going to use a palette by Shiseido. It's got three shades in it - khaki, like a lemony gold and sky blue.
This is GD804. From these shades, I'm actually going to use probably the khaki and the gold. They'll work really well on Sue's complexion.
So, I'm going to get my eye shadow brush and start with the gold khaki. Pop that on the lid and blend. Be sure the edges are blended in.
That's it. Nice and shimmery! I'm going to use a pale gold for the corner from this palette as well.
That shade and apply that in the corner there. It looks really pretty. Nice and shimmery! I'm now going to use this MUA Intense Glitter Eyeliner, 99P from Superdrug.
And they're soft as butter and blend to perfection so I'm going to use that on the upper eyelid. Some mascara, I've got this Guerlain mascara, I'm going to apply in black on the lashes, outer corners, just dot along the lower lashes as well. Next, I'm going to apply this shimmer, Face Shimmer from Famous.
It's shimmer brick called Rose Glow no.2. Just apply it to the cheek area and you can use the highlighter as well from the top two colours, you can mix and match them or swirl them all over together. I'm going to use the pinky colors.
I'm going to use the No.7 Skin Illuminator to highlight Sue's cheekbones again, just to reinforce that shimmer look, and down the nose and little bit more there and even on the lips. I've got a really pretty lip gloss by Vie, a satin shine in a really soft pink that I'm going to apply, nice shimmery rose pink on the lips. Now, just check it.
And that's how to do shimmer make up.
