-
Before applying any make-up, prime the skin with moisturiser.
Apply foundation with a damp sponge, starting in the centre of the face and working out to the hairline. Remember to apply the foundation onto the eyelids and underneath the jawline to avoid a tide mark. -
Use a cream concealer a tone lighter than your natural skin color on darker areas such as under the eyes, around the nose, and on any blemishes.
-
Set the concealer with some loose translucent powder using a wide, flat brush. Use a larger powder brush to set the rest of the face with powder.
-
For neutral eyes, use a fawn cream eyeshadow and apply up to the eye socket with a large eyeshadow brush.
Blend the outer edges with a clean brush for a soft, natural look. -
Curl the eyelashes before applying mascara for extra impact. Get as close to the roots as you can and hold for about 3 seconds. Use black mascara, and wiggle the wand as you move up and out to get the lashes fully coated. If you make any mistakes, use a clean mascara wand or toothbrush and brush through the lashes. Apply a little mascara to the bottom lashes to open up the eyes.

Lizzie is going to apply fuschia lipstick but you can also use bright lip gloss for a less dramatic look. Dab the color on with a lip brush, starting in the centre and working outwards.
To make sure the look lasts all evening, pat the lips with a tissue and reapply the lipstick, again concentrating the colour in the centre of the lips. For extra impact, apply a gloss in bright orange over the lipstick. -
Complement your lips with a bright pink blusher, applied to the highest part of the cheekbone. Sweep the powder onto the blusher brush and tap off any excess. Sweep around the cheek in a C shape, building up the color gradually.
