In this video, David Morris shows us how to enlighten friends by whistling at a party.
Hello there. I'm David Morris. In 2003, I went over to America and I won the title “World Champion Whistler” and I'm here today to hopefully help you improve your whistling.
“How to whistle at a party”, this is a particularly relevant video for me because it was at a friend's party that I was first asked to whistle in public. One or two friends knew what I could do, and I got some requests at this particular party. It went down so well that the same group of people encouraged me to make a CD, and the rest is history, as they say.
So to whistle at a party like I did, it's all about choosing the right pieces which suit that group of people, the right volume; don't be too loud or too quiet, and also, the right timing is important as well. I think the best timing to whistle at a party is at the end of the meal, when they could be around with the cheese and biscuits and coffee and people have had a few glasses of wine. It's important to pick/choose, the mood of the party which everybody will know.
Things like, (whistling)… something like that or, (whistling)… with the correct words of course. It's all about having fun and a good way through that is to try and get some of the friends to join in, try and copy. So that's how to whistle at a party.
