How To Win On "The Price Is Right"

If you're lucky enough to hear the siren's call of "Come On Down!", shed a tear for Bob, then get in to win with our handy guide.
-
Step 1:
-
Know The Games
-
There are more than 70 mini-games on The Price is Right. Watch the show and get familiar as many as possible.
-
Step 2:
-
Showtime!
-
In addition to getting tickets in advance, you'll need to arrive in the wee hours to get in. Prepare for lines around the block.
-
Step 3:
-
Ace The Interview
-
The pre-show interview may just be a producer greeting you in line, so be ready to project the excitement of a winning player if you want to make it to Contestant's Row.
-
Step 4:
-
Mini-Game Madness
-
Mini-games such as Plinko will weed out the weak. Here, the object is to guess which digit of the price is wrong, and which is right. Look at the last digit. If it's zero or 5, it's probably right. If it's not 0, 5 or 9, it's probably wrong.
-
Step 5:
-
Showcase Showdown
-
If you're lucky enough to make it to the moment of truth, here's what you should know. A team of researchers including Notre Dame faculty calculated the mathematically-optimal way to play The Wheel Game. Here's what they say when it comes to risking a second spin. If Contestant 1 scores 65 or less, he should take a second spin. Contestant 2 should take another spin if the first spin gave him 55 or less- OR didn't beat Contestant 1. Contestant 3 should take a second spin if the score from her first spin is under 50 and results in a tie, OR if spin one isn't enough to beat the best score.
-
Step 6:
-
Win Or Lose
-
You put in your bid and there's no going back. Whatever happens, what's important is that you savored the plastic smiles, the audience's screams and your moment in the spotlight.
