Hi there, I'm Chris from Aspect Maintenance, an electrical company based in the centre of London. Today we're just going to have a brief look at some of the points you should look out for when installing an outdoor, waterproof, double socket. Here we have the double socket itself.

It's basically just a double socket that's compatible with going outside. You've got the rubber pieces there that protect the cables and stuff when the front door is locked. And then you have the rubber grommet strip that goes around the edge.

This is obviously just to keep out any water that could try and get through because obviously it's going to rain and stuff with the British weather. We've connected half the socket up already. So we'll just put the last connection in.

And you can install this socket anywhere you want outside. It could be for your barbeque or anything. But you obviously just want to make sure that at the other end when it's in the distribution bolt you put a protect on it, as obviously that needs to be done for any socket installed or any light installed outside.

So once that's done it's just a case of pushing it back, making sure that we get the grommet. There we go, just like that. And then you just screw it on.

And that's how you do an outdoor, waterproof, double socket.
