Rebekah Fensome shows you how to use the 'five minute rule' to stop delaying annoying or boring tasks, and get on with all the stuff you need to get done.
Put on your favourite music so you can enjoy it, and distract yourself from the task in hand. Use the 'five minute rule' where you think up a reward that you give yourself if you'll do the unpleasant task. Now get on with the task, and after five mnutes, ask yourself if you can be bothered to carry on for another five minutes. Once you have started the task, the answer will be yes! Carry on with it, and after another five minutes ask yourself if you can be bothered to carry on for another five minutes. Before you know it the task will be complete
