They are huge sources of heat loss and if you have a large window in the bedroom, it can allow light to come in to the extent that at four-thirty in the morning, on a May morning, you are wide awake.

So, treatments on large windows are very important. There are endless styles. You don't have to have a pelmet over a large window.

You can have a pole. There are loads of different poles on the market. They're wooden, they're metal, they're glass, Perspex.

A fantastic array of poles. Provided they're strong enough for the curtains you're going to put on the window, there is endless choice. For the pelmet styles, again, there are endless choices.

There are vertical pelmets where they are gathered, like this one on this bay window, or they can be flat and pleated or they can be horizontal style pelmets where they are tamed on the window. And there are loads of styles on that one as well. The structure is virtually the same on all of them; a good solid pelmet board with a corded track under the pelmet board and then your style is up to you.
