Learn How To Drive Stick Shift

In this two-minute video, a mechanic shows you how to drive a car with a manual transmission. From starting the car, to driving at different speeds and finally parking the car, you'll learn everything you need to know about driving a stick shift.

In this video, I'm going to teach you how to drive stick shift. To start with, you have to get your key, put it in the ignition and turn the ignition on, but checking that the gear is in neutral by shaking it side to side. You need to start up your car, and then to start off with, push the clutch down to the floor, select first gear by pushing it left and up, bring your clutch pedal up until you feel the biting point, which you'll feel it want to start moving.

At that point is when you're going to take your handbrake off, and always remember to put your seatbelt on. Start to use the accelerator, and bring the biting point and the clutch pedal all the way up. If the revs drop down too low, just change back one gear and it will take you back up.

I'm just changing down to stop, then using the clutch to find the biting point again, and then the accelerator. And as you stop, take it out of gear by pushing down the clutch, making sure it's in neutral, and pull up the handbrake, and turn off the car. That's how you drive a stick shift. .
