Essential viewing for any one who wants to clean the lens of their green laser pointer with out damaging it.
Step 1: Lens cleaning tutorial:
One of the most common problems with laser pointers is a dirty lens. It's also one of the problems that easiest to fix. Now there are a lot of different ways you can clean a laser pointer lens. Most of them will not work and some of them will even damage the lens, such as microfiber, q-tips, or alcohol.
Step 2: Methods of cleaning:
There are only two ways to clean a laser pointer lens that I would recommend. First - compressed air - a can of compressed air or a squeeze bulb. Second, professional lens cleaning equipment such as these lens pens. Now, two main tasks. The big one, you've got the pad in front, and the brush. And the small one. The small one you keep in your pocket, or for ladies keep in your handbag. Now before you clean your laser lens, one thing you have to do is take out the batteries. Just too dangerous to leave them inside.
Step 3: The first method:
Now you're ready to clean the lens. Take off the lens cover and inside you've got the glass lens. Now let's use the first method, compressed air, normally works by itself, you don't need anything else. Give it a few bursts, nine times out of ten this lens is now clean. Let's just say for argument's sake that it's still dirty. Then you use your professional lens cleaning equipment. Use a brush. Easy. . . will normally work. This should be a clean lens. Now if for some reason it's being really difficult to clean, then use the pad.
Step 4: Screw it back on:
Now this lens is clean. Screw in the cover back on, batteries back in, have a look at it then. Beautiful, problem fixed, laser's working again.
