Videojug checks out this beautiful old London pub, steeped in literary history. This pretty little 17th century pub offers a great selection of beer and food in an unspoilt environment within Hammersmith. It also boasts the smallest bar in Britain!
Step 1: Why's it so good?
This 17th Century Riverside pub is in the Guinness Book of Records for having the smallest bar in Britain. It's tiny - clocking in at 4 foot 2 inches by 7 foot 10 inches.
It boasts an illustrious literary history. Famous regulars included Graham Greene, Ernest Hemingway and the poet James Thomson who wrote Rule Britannia.
The Dove has the atmosphere and of a traditional countryside pub and is a charming place to visit while walking along the Thames in West London.
Step 2: What's on offer?
There's the cosy saloon bar with a low ceiling and dark oak beams with a open fire for winter evenings. Follow a small flight of stairs up to the dining area where you can order from its varied and traditional pub menu. There's a variety of cask beers on offer.
Double doors lead out to a conservatory which houses an old vine. Outside is a riverside terrace - a popular viewpoint for the Oxford/ Cambridge annual boat race.

The Dove is located at 19 Upper Mall, In Hammersmith, W6. The nearest tube station is Ravenscroft Park which is on the District line.
