London: The London Aquarium

Step 1: What's there?

The London Aquarium is divided into different zones. Each zone represents the world's different seas and waters. There are freshwater terrapins and red-bellied piranhas, jellyfish, coral, and tuna fish and sharks from the Pacific Ocean.

There are 4 different types of shark in the shark tank and you can watch the divers feeding them. Check the website or phone ahead for feeding times, and also to find out more about the talks and tours that take place each day. There are over 350 species of fish in the Aquarium. There's even a touch pool where you can stroke the Rays.

Step 2: How long has it been going?

It took a year and a half to build, and opened in 1996. It's one of the largest aquariums in Europe, and has had over 8 million visitors.

Step 3: Where is it?

The london Aquarium is in County Hall on the South bank of the Thames, between Hungerford and Westminster Bridges, next to the London Eye. It's a short walk from Westminster and Waterloo tube stations.
