The stairs play a prominent role in the book "The Tea Rose" by Jennifer Donnelley. The film provides a useful look at the real thing.

I agree, the Wapping Stairs are fascinating! I live in Wapping but have only seen these stairs from the pub - you have inspired me to go and have a proper look.
